Can I reserve a specific seat?

No. Seating is general admission. A ticket is required for entry, and each show is limited to 128 guests.

When purchasing tickets, the checkout page may display a table layout. This is only a visual way to show the number of tickets in your order — it does not represent reserved seating.

Is This Family Friendly?

Parental discretion is advised for children under 8+.

This production is best suited for teens and adults.

While there is no profanity, sexual content, or graphic gore, the show contains several scenes that may be emotionally intense for younger viewers. The story includes:

Intense / Frightening Moments

A dramatic sequence depicting the 10th plague (the death of the firstborn), including loud crying and mourning onstage. This moment is designed to feel heavy and frightening, even though it is not visually graphic.

A scene where the audience hears an anguished wail from an Egyptian mother (off-stage / theatrical style), emphasizing grief and loss.

Grief and Loss Themes

A major emotional storyline involving a married couple grieving the loss of a family member. This includes direct dialogue and a song focused on grief, faith, and unanswered questions.

Violence (Stylized, Not Graphic)

Scenes depicting the arrest of Jesus, including a moment where a disciple draws a sword and cuts off a soldier’s ear (the ear is restored immediately).

A depiction of Jesus’ trial and crucifixion, including shouting crowds, a crown of thorns, and strong “mob” energy. The staging is intense, but not gore-heavy.

Self-Harm / Suicide

A brief theatrical depiction of Judas’ remorse over betraying Jesus, shown in a stylized way (not prolonged, and not graphic).

Recommended Age

Because of the themes above, we recommend this production for ages 8+, with parental discretion for younger viewers.

Will There Be Food?

Yes and No.

Yes. Elements of the Passover meal and the Lord's Supper are incorporated into the experience.

No. There is no "Dinner" meal. Only small traditional seder and Lord's Supper elements, such as Matzah, bitter herbs, and grape juice.

Is This a Real Seder?

“Why This Night” is not a traditional Jewish Seder service.

It is a theatrical production inspired by the structure and symbolism of the Passover Seder, presented through a Christian lens that connects the Exodus story to the Last Supper and crucifixion of Jesus.

The evening is designed as an immersive storytelling experience — not as a formal religious observance.

That being said, the writers and creative team behind the show do themselves participate in yearly Messianic Passover Seders with their family and community. Thus the show does take a faithful approach to its adaptation of the Seder. And is designed to be an interactive event where the audience participates in the Seder elements throughout the show.

When do The Doors Open?

Doors open 45 minutes before showtime. We encourage guests to arrive early to allow time for seating and to fully enter into the atmosphere of the evening.

Is There Audience Participation?

Yes — but participation is always voluntary.

There are moments where the audience is invited to join in songs, blessings, and reflection. Communion and Seder elements are also offered as part of the experience. Guests are never required to participate.
